The opportunity
Our client is an internationally established interior architecture and design practice delivering high quality hospitality, residential, commercial and leisure environments. They are looking for a Technical Design Associate to provide senior technical direction across complex interior architecture projects in Dubai.
This role is for a technically rigorous leader who can translate design intent into coordinated, buildable documentation and guide teams through design development, tender issue and post contract delivery. You will be a key technical authority across assigned projects and will work closely with design leadership, project managers, consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers.
What you will do
- Lead the technical development and documentation of assigned interior architecture projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules and coordinated technical packages before issue.
- Ensure design information is accurate, complete, buildable and aligned with applicable authority requirements.
- Resolve complex technical issues across architecture, structure, MEP, lighting, kitchens, spas, signage, AV and specialist packages.
- Lead technical coordination meetings and drive closure of outstanding actions.
- Review shop drawings, technical submittals, samples, mock ups, RFIs and proposed alternatives during project delivery.
- Conduct site inspections, identify quality risks and support the close out of snagging and quality reports.
- Mentor technical designers and CAD or BIM team members while maintaining consistent detailing standards.
What you will bring
- A minimum of twelve years of relevant interior architecture or technical design experience.
- A degree in architecture, interior design or a related discipline.
- Strong post contract and site experience across interior architecture projects.
- Proven technical leadership on complex hospitality, food and beverage, luxury residential, commercial, retail or leisure projects.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, joinery, specialist interfaces and buildability.
- Experience with local authority requirements and construction practice in the United Arab Emirates or Gulf region.
- Expert AutoCAD skills with strong working knowledge of Revit and BIM coordination. Navisworks and common data environment experience are valued.
- Professional fluency in English and confidence representing technical recommendations in project meetings.
